Who does and does not qualify to live in Redemption Village?+
Potential residents will be coming from jail, rehab, the W.R.A.P. program, or aging out of foster care. No sex offenders or violent offenders will be allowed.
What is the qualification process?+
Potential residents fill out an application answering questions about physical and mental health, substance abuse, incarceration, and probation status if applicable. Staff review each application to make a decision.
How long will residents stay?+
Statistics show that a person who stays clean for 18 months has a better chance of staying drug-free long term. Residents will have up to 18 months to stay if they so choose.
What exactly is Redemption Village?+
Redemption Village will be transitional housing for men who need help getting back on track to become productive members of society: a taxpayer, not a tax burden.
Will residents have access to the church after hours?+
Residents will not have access to any part of Grace Baptist Church's facilities unless it is a scheduled Grace service or event. They will not be mandated to attend Grace but are encouraged to be a part of what Grace has going on.
Will there be 24/7 security or supervision?+
Yes. Redemption Village will be enclosed by a 6-foot privacy fence, with security cameras and surveillance recording 24/7. A Senior Resident will also be on site to oversee the conduct of residents.
How many tiny homes will there be?+
There will be 7 tiny homes along with a community building for hanging out, doing laundry, a classroom, and a conference room.
Who is funding this project?+
This project is funded entirely by AIAO Ministry through donations. We are a 501(c)(3), and all donations are tax deductible.
What are the requirements and expectations for residents?+
Residents will be subject to regular, random drug testing with zero tolerance for any positive drug or alcohol screens. They are required to work a full-time job, attend all required meetings and classes, and follow all AIAO Ministry rules and regulations.
What happens if a resident is removed for a failed drug test or handbook violation?+
Arrangements will be made with family to pick them up, if that's an option. Otherwise, AIAO Ministry will cover a hotel for a day so they can figure out next steps.
What is Grace Baptist Church's role in this project?+
Grace Baptist's role is simply to do as Jesus commands: “Love thy neighbor as thyself.” Grace Baptist has no financial obligations in the construction or daily operations of Redemption Village.
